Dear TestVocabulary visitors! We are constantly working on our site, adding new features, new sections and words, and expanding the scope of possible usage. The teenagers in our family "development team" are using this site for their own SAT preparations, so we are not just the developers, but also users of our own site. We do it for you and for ourselves, and we'll always be glad to hear your voice. Please, don't hesitate to come with any suggestions you think might be appropriate.
Thanks!
- The Family Development Team

We have created a new section, where you can now learn biology terms. This section can be very helpful towards SAT and ACT test study. Since scientific terms are similar but different then regular literary terms, we have created this to help you understand the different descriptions better. Biology terms are phrases commonly used in the study of living organisms; Understanding biology terms is necessary to anyone interested in learning about or studying biology. This section will cover all biological fields, including genetics and conservation. In the future we plan on making a similar section for historical terms, which describe the different actions and traditions of the characters.

Fix your reading and vocabulary

According to a study conducted in 2006, 11 million U.S. grownups about 1/20 – have bad reading skills which are so bad; they can’t even read a magazine. That statistic says a lot of shocking statements, and one of them is that people have a very poor vocabulary. Improving your vocabulary is not about learning a new word, or idiom, it’s about learning the word, and learning how to use it in everyday speech. That one word comes with other meanings which might lead to other ideas. As a result, your vocabulary widens, and you develop a new way of everyday speech. What could help is increasing your reading time, and doing a lot of crossword puzzles. They are proven methods which work, even for me. But you don’t have to do something you don’t like, like crossword puzzles, like instead, you could try reading a book and writing a summery about it using simple words, then replace the simple words with more sophisticated one, and keep doing it until you're used to it and it's a snap. Despite how this may sound to you it's very fun, not as fun as going to an amusement park, but as fun as watching TV, also, just as hypnotizing.
